To investigate into the matter related to death of many buffaloes in Mapithel area of Ukhrul district from an unknown disease over the last few months, a team of veterinary doctors have today rushed to the area and collected samples for further study from
the carcasses.
According to initial report, the disease afflicting the buffalos is likely to be Haemorrhagic Septicaemia.
The veterinary team led jointly by Dr Ksh Shyamjai and Dr Prabin of Veterinary and Animal
Husbandry arrived at Mapithel area today and started collecting samples for further examinations to find out the nature of the disease that have claimed many buffalos in the area over the last few months.
There is no further report of death of Buffalos in the area, according to information received from the Department.
It is very likely that the Buffalos were suffering from Hae-morrhagic Septicaemia, the source added.
