Imphal, December 22 2008: Thoubal district police commandos arrested one active member of UNLF during a frisking drive conducted at Wangjing Tekcham Leikai identified as Tekcham Romendra alias Ibochouba alias Malem alias Puya (27) s/o Shyamananda of the same locality yesterday.

The individual disclosed that he is an active member of UNLF and working in the finance section.

He was earlier a trained PLA cadre having army no 2049 and later joined UNLF.

A booklet titled Nungaiba Phongdokchaba was recovered from his possession, said a press release of Thoubal SP.

Imphal East district police commandos arrested three KCP cadres from Khurai Ahongei Leikai identified as Ngangom Rajkiran alias Ingo (21) s/o Irabanta of Khurai Ahongei Leikai, Keithellakpam Abung alias Nganoi (22) s/o K Yaima of Khurai Soibam Leikai and Kshetrimayum Tolen (26) s/o (L) Ksh Negho of Kongpal Kongkham Leikai on December 19 .

Two rounds of SLR ammunition from the possession of Abung and two rounds of 9mm ammunition from Tolen were recovered.

They disclosed that they are the active members of the outfit and they are now working under the command of Chinglen of Heingang.

The same day, another team of Imphal East district police commandos arrested one KYKL cadre from Kongba, near Meitei Mayek High School identified as Kshetrimayum Sanjit alias Thoi (24) s/o Ksh Jiten of Kakwa Naorem Leikai.

He disclosed that he joined KYKL in the month of December 2007 and he was involved in the extortion of money from the general public and Government.

A team of Imphal district police commandos arrested one KCP (MC) woman cadre from Lamlong identified as Khumukcham Damenti (25) s/o (L) Kh Amubi of Sambram Laibung Maning Leikai on December 20.She disclosed that she joined the outfit in the month of January 2008 through one Nando.

She was involved in extortion of money from general public, Government officials and shops of Lamlong area, said a press release of Imphal East SP.
