Imphal, February 22 2009:
The proscribed KCP has also severely condemned the inhuman killing of Kasom Khullen SDO Th Kishan, his driver A Rajen and Mandal Y Token.
In a statement issued to the press today, information and publicity secretary of the outfit, H Poirei said that the very act of abducting six persons from near the office of the DC at Ukhrul and later killing three of them at a village at Senapati district inhabited by the Kuki tribe is nothing but an attempt to incite communal tension.
Such act exposes the hands of the agencies of the Government of India, it maintained.
Turning back the pages of history by some hill elites to keep alive the stink of the past misunderstanding by whipping up passion and let the each other take revenge will never bear fruits, said KCP and added that this fact should register in the minds of all.
Such thinking is against progress, said the statement and added that the time has come for all to think along with the changing times so as to co-exist together.
No one can change the age old ties between the people of the hills and the valley to suit their own agenda, said KCP adding that the people of the hills and the valley have been co-existing as people of the same blood.
It is therefore important to weed out the elements who have been caught in the trap laid down by India to think only along narrow communal lines and break the bond of love and ties, added Poirei.
Maintaining that getting to the bottom of the murder of the SDO and his subordinates should not be that tough a task, KCP said that it should not be forgotten that the officer and his men were abducted from the office complex of the Ukhrul DC.
If the hill and valley people stand united, then no enemy can defeat the people, said KCP and added that it is important for all the people of the hills and valley to unite and mete out appropriate punishment to the guilty.
Demanding to book the culprits involved in the brutal murder of the SDO and his associates, the JAC constituted against the killing has been under-taking agitation of all sorts.
