Imphal, November 01 2009:
Return of a family banished from Khurai Thangjam Leikai following a rape attempt on a daughter-in-law of the family by a friend of her father-in-law on August 9 this year resulted in a skirmish today.
The skirmish ensued when Tayenjam Yaiskul's family came back to their house at Khurai Thangjam Leikai without permission of the JAC constituted in connection with the incident in August.
In the skirmish, one motorcycle was reduced to cinders as two individuals sustained injuries.

According to information culled from the spot, some members of the banished family came in an auto-rickshaw and a motorcycle (Bajaj Calibre) to re-occupy their house at about 2 pm today.
As they tried to enter their house, they were told by some local people that they could not re-occupy their house without consent of the JAC.
This resulted in a scuffle between the two sides.
Soon the local people smashed the wind-shield of the auto-rickshaw and burnt a motorcycle (Bajaj Calibre) rode by Yaiskul's son, Robichandra.
Yaiskul's wife, Memma and one Bheigya s/o Nandababu of Chingangbam Leikai Thingom Leirak sustained injuries on the head and were taken to JN Hospital.
According to Yaiskul's family, the Genial Club sent letters to them as well as the JAC to talk about the banishment at the club's office on October 31.But no member of the JAC turned up for the meeting.
As such, it was assumed that the JAC was no longer in existence.
The meeting also resolved that the JAC was constituted by a few people in their own interest.
Further, the local club did not put up any objection against the family returning back to their house.
The meeting resolved that no one should raise any objection against the family re-occupying their own house.
It was in accordance to these resolutions that they came back to their house but it ended in a scuffle.
