A two-day training workshop for Forest Officers on Forest and Wildlife Conservation has begun from today at the main conference hall of Forest Head Office at Sanjenthong.
The inaugural function of the workshop was attended by Commissioner of Forest and Environment Dr J Suresh Babu, IAS as chief guest.
Principal Chief Conservator of Forest Dr S Singsit and Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forest Anilkumar were also present at the occasion as president and guest of honour.
In all 50 officers including DFOs, Additional PCCF, Range Forest Officers, etc participated in the workshop.
Speaking as chief guest of the inaugural function, Dr Suresh Babu observed that Forest Department plays a vital role in the preservation of nature and eco-system.
He said that the Forest Dept has been working not only for the present generation but also for the future generations.
In his presidential address, Dr S Singsit pointed out that those who are working in Forest Department are very close to nature and they live a very different far from cities.
Calling upon the participants to update their knowledge for the development of their respective divisions, he noted that the Department would suffer if the Forest officers and staff neglect their duties and their performance in the field is the image of the Department.
