Imphal, December 14 2008:
Advocating unity within and among all insurgent groups, the proscribed KCP (MC) has questioned the sincerity of the appeals and statements made by Sengoi Meitei, KK Nganba (Manglemjao), Kokai, Lamphel and City Meitei towards unification of all KCP groups.
A press release issued by the outfit's information and public relations officer Puranthaba asked them to demonstrate their sincerity with action and concrete evidence.
Taking serious note of the growing practice of demanding money by some people in the name of KCP (MC), Puranthaba informed that the military council has been able to open its training centre and mobile units with the money collected from public under compelling situations.
Conveying gratitude to all those who made donations to the outfit, Puranthaba said that the party, though unwilling to collect money from the public, shall continue to seek assistance from the public for sometime.
Alleging that Hitendra of the KCP Hitendra group, currently reported to be under peace talk with the Government has been taking shelter at Yaingangpokpi AR post, Puranthaba clarified that Hitendra was expelled from the party for violating principles of the party.
The outfit further refuted the DGP's press statement about possible involvement of KCP (MC) in the killing of Rishikanta.
Saying that KCP (MC) respect media, it further clarified that the outfit was not related to the kidnapping incident of Health Minister Parijat's son.
Puranthaba also informed that a newly built camp has been opened on December 12 on the occasion of Nupi Lan anniversary.
The camp was opened with a prayer to instill the same spirit and courage of those valiant mothers to party cadres, he added.
