Imphal, September 11: In connection with the President's assent given on promulgation of Armed Forces Special Powers Act on this day in 1958, Just Peace Foundation organised a day-long convention on 'Violence of the invisible 9/11 reflections on the Armed Forces Special Powers Act' at Hotel Anand Continental here today.

Inaugural function of the convention was attended by noted Manipuri filmmaker Aribam Syam Sharma as chief guest, president of Manipur Olympic Association Elangbam Binoy as guest of honour and president of Senior Citizens' Forum Prof Sadananda as functional president.

Participating in the convention, many resource persons spoke on various topics like 'Constitutionality and Legality of AFSPA', 'Political-Judicial foundation of AFSPA', 'Civil society's response to AFSPA', etc.
