Imphal, February 24 2009: Strongly condemning the dastardly killing of the SDO of Kasom Khullen, Dr Th Kishan, driver A Rajen and Mandal Y Token, the proscribed PULF has today stated that the killing was the handiwork of some Tangkhul leaders within the NSCN (IM).

In a statement, Saroj Khan of secretary of the publicity cell of the outfit said that this was not the first time that the NSCN (IM) had carried out such heinous crime and added that the three were killed to flame communal passion and sow the seeds of discord.

Asserting that there was a sinister design in the killing, PULF said that the Tangkhul goondas within the NSCN (IM) abducted the three and later killed at Taphou Kuki village in Senapati district so as to ignite communal tension between the Kukis and others.

Passing the buck to others after committing such heinous crime is the culture of the NSCN (IM), said the statement and added that the people of Manipur who have been living together for ages should not fall into the trap laid by some Tangkhul goons in the NSCN (IM).

It is time for the Tangkhul community to eliminate the scoundrels amongst them so that all communities can co-exist peacefully, said PULF.

The PULF had already made it clear that there are some Tangkhul elements within the NSCN (IM) who have been unleashing a reign of terror to break up the land and to instigate communal flare ups, added the statement.

Denying the act of terror in the first place is not something new to the NSCN (IM), claimed PULF and added that due to the pressure mounted from every direction, the IM group had to retract from its earlier stand and admit that Lt Col Hopeson Ningshen was the master mind behind the brutal killing of the SDO and his two subordinates.

PULF also warned the Im group to implement its assurance.

Now that the master mind has been identified it remains to be seen whether the NSCN (IM) will implement its earlier commitment of giving fitting punishment to anyone found involved in the case, said PULF.

If the NSCN (IM) rescinds from its earlier announcement then PULF will not hesitate to award capital punishment to Hopeson Ningshen and others involved in the crime, claimed the statement.
