Claiming responsibility for torching a Tata Sumo on July 9 at Naral Konjil, the proscribed Kuki Revolutionary Army (KRA) has clarified that the 'unfortunate incident' was a result of the disrespectful attitude of transporters (buses and Tata Sumos) along Imphal-Moreh route towards its demand for annual tax.
A press release issued by KRA Finance Secretary Jonathan warned that further actions will be initiated if the transporters cannot come to an understanding at the earliest.
It further warned all individuals involved in abusing the name of KRA in Imphal area to surrender to the outfit within five days failing which they will be awarded capital punishment.
Appealing to the people not to entertain monetary and other demands made in the name of KRA without the signature of Jonathan Misao.
Even if such demands are made with the signature of Jonathan Misao, it asked people of Imphal area to confirm the authenticity of the demand notes through cell phone no 9436088309.As for the vehicles operating along highways, the signature of DT Haokip will remain valid for some time.
However, his signature will not be used for monetary demands in Imphal area for good, added the KRA release.
