Imphal, July 25 2010:
Vehicles which were stranded on NH 53 have started reaching Imphal and some vehicles are at Nungba.
If no untoward incident happens on the way, the remaining vehicles are expected to reach Imphal tomorrow.
Meanwhile, trucks will be leaving for Jiribam on NH 53 tomorrow carrying stones from Langjing, informed a press release issued by General Secretary, Transporters' and Drivers' Council (TDC) Ng Haridas.
The press release stated that the vehicles will leave Imphal on NH 53 on July 27 after picking up stones from Langjing, he further appealed to the trucks to report at Langjing tomorrow morning.
The TDC cautioned the vehicle owners of Kanglatongbi and Charhajar to cooperate with the decision of the TDC not to ply NH 39 until their demands are met.
It said that the vehicles transporting goods on NH 39 are downloading goods at Kanglatongbi and Charhajar and transport the same to Imphal.
It appealed to the concerned to stop this act of defiance.
