Imphal, October 24 2011:
A student who was selected for admission in Sainik School Imphal and subsequently admitted to the school has been thrown out and handed over to his parents under charges and allegations.
Angom Malemnganba s/o Angom Joykumar was admitted to Sainik School Imphal in class VI on May 23 this year under admission number 3374 .
Angom Joykumar, the kid's father, of Soibam Leikai, Imphal East is an IRB personnel posted in Nagaland.
Malemnganba was selected under defence category against the admission test roll number 1226 .
But after four months and seven days, the school authority informed Joykumar to come and take back his son saying that Malemnganba could not be enrolled in Sainik School under defence category.
The school authority contended that only children born to parents who work in Army, Navy or Air Force can be grouped under defence category.
However, Malemnganba's aunt RK Mina said that the admission form did not specify only those working in Army, Air Force or Navy would be eligible for defence category.
Saying that they ticked the defence category while filling up the admission form, Mina questioned as to why school authority did not reject the admission form of Malemnganba then and there.
She also questioned why Malemnganba was admitted and allowed to join classes for the last four months.
Mina further disclosed that the school authority forced her to write the words 'On Request' on the transfer certificate of Malemnganba with an ulterior motive to throw out the student.
The deceitful expulsion from Sainik School has not only ruined the career of Malemnganba but also caused depression.
Mina further appealed to the Sainik School authority to re-consider the case of Malemnganba.
