NCP National Youth secretary incharge of North East Vinod Shinha stating that he had studied issues besetting the State, has assured to highlight the same to central leaders.
"During my brief stint in the State, I have studied the main problems being endured by the people of Manipur including the prolonged imposition of AFSPA, unemployment, insurgency etc.
I will definitely highlight the same to the central leaders for redressal", Shinha said at a press conference at Press Club today.
Asserting that the NCP is committed to development of North East including Manipur, he said he would urge central leaders for repeal of AFSPA as the foremost priority.
He also assured to press central leaders particularly NCP leader and Union Minister for Agriculture Sharad Pawar to set up a regional commercial exchange centre in the State and to develop tourism.
Shinha also mentioned of the issues concerning HIV/AIDS, unemployment, higher studies while conveying optimism that the party leaders would certainly endorse his appeal.
NCP State vice-president N Radhakanta said that the infamous Act would be repealed from the State provided NCP comes to power after the forthcoming State Assembly elections.
