NCP president, Radhabinod Koijam who is also the leader of opposition parties in Manipur Assembly cautioned from felling prey to politicians who lure people with money and said that time has come to choose those people who will serve the people sincerely.
Speaking at the one day political convention of the National Congress Party (NCP), Thangmeiband Kendra Committee held at the premise of the Khundhokhanbi Laishang, the former chief minister further said that it is too much that people of the state are mad with money forgetting that money cannot buy the prestige of being a human being.
The ending of the agitation for justice in Khwairamband shoot out incident without a proper end point is the clear example of what he said, Radhabinod cited.
Politicians and candidates should also leave the ideology of winning election with money and muscle power.
They should at least think for the future of the state and of the society, he observed.
People also should beware of those people who fight election for the sake of getting contract works and supply orders from the government department.
For upliftment of the society toward advancement, a good government is a must.
A good government can be installed only when people choose right persons who will sincerely serve the people, he added.
On the occasion, the NCP president also donated Rs 50,000 from his MLA local development fund for taking up welfare works for 33 children living with HIV hailing from his constituency.
In today�s political conference, MLAs of NCP like, Th Nandakishoe, Doukhon-gmang Khongsai, Salam Joy and president of the Thangmeiband unit of the party, Khangjakpam Ibobi also attended.
