Conditions of hunger striker Irom Chanu Sharmila is said to be improving at AIIMS where she was admitted some weeks back after Delhi police picked her up from Jantar Mantar where she continued her fast to demand complete repeal of AFSPA 1958.Acknowledging that Sharmila's health deteriorated slightly about three days back with symptoms of fever, loose motion and vomiting, her brother Irom Singhajit Singh told the Sangai Express that she is beginning to show signs of improvement today with the exception of her stool said to be darkish in colour.
Informing that results of urine and stool are being awaited from AIIMS doctors, Singhajit further detailed that Sharmila is being administered oral dehydration solution through the nose and other medication necessary for preserving her health status even though nose feeding is yet to be resumed.
Meanwhile, a different source informed of MSAD functionaries screening film clippings at the social forum section of Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in the national capital exposing atrocities committed by security forces.
MPP president Dr L Chandramani accompanied by party MLA Dr Nimaichand Luwang today visited AIIMS to inquire Sharmila's condition, the source added.
