On the following day, the team would leave Imphal and head for Champhai district of Mizoram to inspect the preparation being made for setting up another ICP for development of Indo-Myanmar border activities there.
Although there is also a proposal for setting up an ICP in Champhai district, apprehension has been raised whether the Centre has given more weightage to Mizoram in view of the deteriorating law and order condition in Manipur.
The source also confided that taking into account shortage of rainfall this year, Agriculture Department would not recollect water pump sets that had been handed over to many farmers.
Rather Department personnel would routinely carry out inspection to ensure proper use of the water pumps, the source maintained.
