Imphal, October 24 2011:
All Manipur Education Volunteers' Welfare Association has appealed to the government for absorption of the education volunteers working in 380 Education Guarantee Scheme (EGS) Centre, which have been upgraded to Primary Schools and pointed out that upgradation has been made possible owing to the contribution of the education volunteers towards promotion of education all these years.
In a statement, Secretary of the Association Heisnam Basanta Singh further appealed for giving an opportunity to the education volunteers for undergoing necessary training and clearing TET if at all training and TET were to make compulsory for appointment.
At the time of engaging education volunteers, TET was not applicable and no authorities have ever made any communication in this regard.
But after more than 5/6 years service in EGS centre, education volunteers have also crossed the age bar for entering Government service, Basanta noted.
