Imphal, March 31 2009: The last date for submission of nomination file for inner Manipur constituency which falls on April 4 has been deferred owing to General Strike on April 2 .

The notification for election to the 15th Lok Sabha was issued on March 28 for inner Manipur constituency.

The last date for submission of the nomination papers has been postponed due to general strike being called on April 2 by JAC against the killing of SDO, Dr Kishan and two of his staffs.

However, the rescheduled last date for the submission of nomination forms could not be confirmed as of now.

Candidates from the MPP, INC, BJP, CPI, BSCP and Independent candidate are expected to file their nominations.

Retired IGP A Rehman has filed his nomination yesterday as an Independent candidate.
