Eight activists of the All Manipur United Clubs' Organisation (AMUCO) have been pulled up by police this afternoon.
Imphal West district police conducted an intensive raid at the Kwakeithel Akham Leikai office of AMUCO since 1.30 pm today following which the eight activists were pulled up.
The apprehended AMUCO activists have been identified as Soken of Wangoo, Brojen of Haorang Khunou, Tompok of Maklang, Sarat of Langthabal Kabui Khul, Ramananda of Patsoi, Dinesh of Takhellembam Leikai, Shungshen of Lamphel Sana Keithel and Nando Luwang of Khundrakpam.
They were taken away by a police team led by the OC of Singjamei police station which also included police commandos.
Before taking them away, the AMUCO activist were allowed to lock their office.
On being enquired about the exact number of the AMUCO activists arrested and why they were arrested, the police team only said 'no comment'.
It is reported that all the eight activists have been handed over to Imphal police station.
