Six new cases reported in Lamka

Lamka, November 11 2011: Even as six new cases of dengue was reportedly confirmed in the district, Health minister L Jayantakumar Singh today officially declared that Dengue is now an epidemic in Churachandpur.

The Minister made the declaration on the sidelines of a public meeting held here during the inauguration of a newly constructed guest house.

District in charge Minister Phungzathang Tonsing also quoted an official missive of the health department and stated that it is an outbreak.

Of the six new cases reported today, two are from Omega Diagnostic Centre, one from Lamka Diagnostic Centre and another three from Excel Diagnostic Centre.

At least two local diagnostic centre has told The Sangai Express that they are now equipped and capable of carrying out the test all by themselves.
