The 7th Khunai Kanba Numit was observed today by the Kangleipak Loinashillon Apunba Marup (KALAM) in association with NH-53 Kanglei Ching-tam Leima Lup today at Irawat Bhavan, Imphal.
The observance of the day is related with the completion of the 10-year old fast of Irom Sharmila.
Editor of Naharolgi Thoudang Khoirom Loiyalakpa graced the function as chief guest which was presided by KALAM president Keithelakpam Sanahongba.
Presidents of NH-53 Kanglei Ching-tam Leima Lup, Thiyam Shilleima and AMWJU general secretary N Philip were guests of honour in the function.
Speaking as chief guest editor Loyalakpa expressed concern over the government's denial to human rights activists coming from outside the state to have an audience with Sharmila.
The government's decision is an insult to the people of the state.
