Imphal, October 27 2009: Ningthoujam Chaoba, an Assistant Extension Officer of the TD department and resident of Yourabung has been safely released from captivity by his abductors today, according to a statement issued by the JAC formed against the kidnapping of N Chaoba.

With his release, the JAC has also been dissolved, the statement conveyed.

The JAC statement expressed gratitude to all concerned contributing for the safe release of N Chaoba, who was abducted on October 14 last.

It expressed thankfulness to Ima Thambal Lairembi Nupi Kanglup, Yourbung, Yourbung Youth Club, Itam Nungoi Meira Paibee, Nungoi Litan Makhong Meira Paibee, Chalou Meira Paibee, Sawombung Students' Club, Women Development Society Leimakhong Mapal, Chaokhat Thourang Nupi Phurup, Seijang, Chingarel Tejpur Meira Paibi Lup, MPP Lamlai Kendra Committee, family members of N Chaoba and the group concerned in the abduction of Chaoba.
