Five villagers of Jessami abducted

Imphal, November 11 2011: Villagers of Nagaland have abducted five villagers of Jessami sub-division of Manipur this afternoon leading to rising tensions among the two people of the neighbouring villages.

According to police source, the incident took place near the Jessami sky bridge.

The villagers of Nagaland have been claiming that the cultivable area inside the Manipur border as their rightful land which is the reason behind the abduction.

The SP of Ukhrul and SP of Phek district of Nagaland has been exchanging information regarding the abducting incident and progress has been made to calm down the tension.

Efforts from both the sides are also on to release the abducted villagers.
