Source: Hueiyen News Service A HIGH level meeting of the Apex Security Co-ordination chaired chief minister O Ibobi today reviewed the security deployment in various mega projects taken up in the state and in the bye-election to the Moirang Assembly constituency, a highly reliable source said.
The chief minister also held another rounds of review meeting on the works taken up for providing night landing facility at the Tulihal airport with concerned officials of the state government, the source added.
The Apex Security Co-ordination comprises of Assam Rifles, Army, BSF and CRPF deploying in the state and state police force.
The high level security meeting held under the chair of the chief minister and commenced at 3 pm this afternoon was attended by the top brasses these set ups apart from the state police chief and officials of the state home department, the source said.
Among others, the meeting reviewed the deployment of security at the Maphou Dam, a component of the Thoubal Multi-purpose Project, Dolaithabi project, Tipaimukh Hydro-electricity Project where government consider the reasons behind slow progress as due to threats pose by anti-social elements.
The meeting after a thorough discussion has reportedly decided to beef up the security deployments in the measures in the projects by sending more security personnel in the project sites and its adjoining areas, the source said.
It also discussed on the security measures taken up in the Moirang Assembly constitution where polling for the bye-election will be witnessed on December 27 and the clash that erupted in Kwakta village which was erupted when some armed militants attempted to abduct a local girl on the night of December 16 .
In the meeting the important of the Central security forces in maintaining public orders was thoroughly discussed in the wake of ECI standing order not to utilized state security forces in the bye-poll.
The strategy for deployment of state force in the periphery of the constituency to prevent intrusion of anti-social elements was also discussed, the source believed.
Another rounds of meeting under the chair of chief minister Ibobi attended by the principal secretary (home) DS Poonia, police chief Y Joykumar, transport minister, L Jayentakumar, works minister K Ranjit and other concern officials also held after the meeting of the Apex Security Co-ordination was over.
The meeting reviewed on the work progress of the infrastructure development taken up by the state government in coordination with the Airport authority for providing night landing facility at the Tuhilal Airport, the source said.
Mention may be made that installation of solar obstruction panel for the night landing facility has been taking up in various part of the convenient places.
