Imphal, March 18 2013:
Students of Industrial Training Institute (ITI), Takyel in Imphal West district have boycotted class in protest demanding the concerned authority to initiate punitive action against a student of the institute who has allegedly withdrawn huge amount of fund from different sources of the institute.
Social and Cultural secretary of ITI Takyel students' union, Ch Surajkumar while addressing the media at the institute on Monday, alleged that N Momocha, Magazine secretary of the union has been found issuing about 40 identity cards to different individuals forging the signature of the institute's
Principal.
In this way, Momocha has embezzled huge amount of fund from different sources of the institute, he alleged.
The IDs were found stamping a seal that read as 'craftsman training institute' and this regard the Principal was informed and urged him to take action against the fraud, Surjakanta said.
However, the Principal has kept mum on the matter and therefore the union has decided to boycott class in the institute until the concerned authority takes proper punitive action against the wrongdoer.
