Chungkham Taratombi, mother of deceased Sanjit today lodged a complaint with the Imphal City Police for registering a case against the personnel of the Manipur Police Commandos who had killed her son after rounded up in fake encounter on July 23 last.
The mother also requested the DGP for issue of an authenticated copy order of suspension of six police commando personnel involved in the killing of his son as announced by the chief minister, O Ibobi in a press conference held on August 5 last at his official bungalow.
In the complaint note of the Taratombi, it was stated that her son Sanjit went out from home along with his friend Yumkhaibam Ibomcha with a lunch packed to attend his ailing uncle at JN Hospital where he left for buying medicine for his ailing uncle.
'My son was apprehended by personnel of the police commandos from BT road at about 10.45 am and subsequently taken inside Maimu Pharmacy located at BT road, Imphal and shot him dead by pumping several bullets,' the mother wrote.
After giving a detail note of the statement of the police read out by the chief minister on the floor of the state Assembly with regard to the killing of two people including her son Sanjit and injured to many others, the complaint note also told the story exposed by the Tehelka with damning sequence of photographs revealing that her son was killed in false encounter.
"Now, Tehelka news magazine has exposed the killing of my son by the police commandos after picking up with photographs as hard evidence," the complaint note stated adding that those police personnel involved in "unjustified" killing of her son deserve to be punished and requested the officer in-charge of the City Police Station to register an FIR case.
She also further wrote the DGP to provide a copy of the police commando personnel suspended with regard to the killing of her son so that she could initiate further legal proceeding against the said police commandos.
