Troops of Assam Rifles apprehended four persons allegedly the NSCN(IM) cadres along with huge quantity of explosive materials during a raid at Kamjong village in Ukhrul district in Manipur and handed over to the state police.
An official source said that troops of 12 Assam Rifles rounded up the four Naga rebels during a raid in a house at Kamjong village under Chasad police station of Ukhrul at around 10.30 am on May 19 and handed over to the police at Imphal today.
The Assam Rifles authority alleged that the arrested persons are NSCN-IM cadres identified as Antenson (62), Langtanmi s/o late Ringson of Khangpat village, Mastenmi s/o Benjemin of Khangpat Khullen and Renjan s/o Abaithor of Lengli village.
Assam Rifles authority also handed over 87 numbers of detonators, 12 sticks of PEK, one rifle bolt, three plastic pipes, four pipe rings, 13 PVC wire, six meter of plastic insulated wire and six inches fuse wires recovered from them, the police source said.
The arrested cadres have been detained in the police custody after the Imphal police station registered a case under section 400 IPC, 5 Explosive Substance Act and 25 (1-C) Arms Act.
Assam Rifles authority has claimed that all the four were rounded up by the troops of the 12 Assam rifles from the house of Antenson of Kamsong village with explosive materials.
