Imphal, November 11 2011: Contrary to its stated objective, the model schools, which have been set up by the government spending crores of rupee to regain the trust of the parents on government run schools, have allegedly been reduced to money minting centers for higher government officials who collect signatures of the headmasters/headmistresses on black papers on the pretext of supplying goods.

All these anomalies have reportedly come to light during an inspection tour carried out by Democratic Students' Alliance of Manipur (DESAM) in some of the government model schools.

Talking to mediapersons, General Secretary of DESAM Moirangthem Angamba informed that during the course of an inspection carried out at Keishamthong Model High School and Wangkhei Model High School today, the headmaster/headmistress showed the blank papers on which they were made to sign by government officials to claim receipt of goods they were not supplied with.
