Imphal, August 04 2009:
Thangmeiband Youths' Organisation has demanded the resignation of 59 MLAs of the Manipur Assembly on moral ground for failing to raise objections to the 'unconstitutional' statement of the CM who said 'there is no alternative but to kill them'.
A statement issued by the office secretary of ThYO, W Ingotomba also denounced the act of the government in shielding the guilty police commandos even after the exposure of the truth by the media.
Demanding the resignation of all the MLAs, the organisation also pledged to support and join the agitations for the establishment of the truth.
Meanwhile, extending solidarity to the movement against the inhumane activities perpetrated by both the state and non-state actors, Thangmeiband United Club (TUC) has pledged to support and participate in any democratic agitation launched by civil society organisations.
It pointed out that the root cause of the evils is 'malpractice' during election times and stated that the right persons should represent the people.
The organisation also appealed to prevent the recurrence of such unwanted incidents in future.
