Tamenglong, August 18 2009: Keeping up to the promises to develop to the people of remote areas in Senapati and Tamenglong district of Manipur the 14 Mahar Regiment under the aegis of 57 Mountain Division Tamei Head quarter had donated the solar lamps to Dikeuram village of Tamei sub- division of Tamenglong under MCA.

"There has been a long pending demand for solar lamps, the project is one of the various schemes under taken by this unit in the remote areas to bring the basic amenities of water and electricity to the people", the official informed the IFP.

The solar lamps were formally handed over to the villages on 15 August.

Earlier the unit also distributed the solar lamps to Nurathen and Kungdong villages of Tamei sub- Division of Tamenglong district under MCA the source added.
