Imphal, October 11 2009:
KLO/KLA, one of the signatory armed groups of Suspension of Operation (SoO), asserted that the outfit has followed the provisions of the SoO agreement and there is no violation of the rules.
Speaking to media persons at its tactical headquarters located somewhere in Sadar Hills today, 'C-in-C' of the KLO/KLA, Timothy Kuki asserted that his group did not violate the SoO agreement and the outfit continues to follow the principle of the agreement since it entered into the pact.
Timothy Kuki clarified that his party was not involved in the abduction of a BDO of Saikot block in Churachandpur district recently.
He said, the KLA (Malsawm) group - which is not a part of SoO pact, was behind the abduction of the BDO.
The KLA (Malsawm) group had also owned up the abduction.
Denying the charge leveled by the UKLA (MC), a breakaway group of the UKLF, that the BDO was abducted by the KLO/KLA, Timothy further clarified that the charge was baseless.
It was an attempt to tarnish the image of the KLO/KLA and to create misunderstanding with the government.
He added that the KLO/KLA was not related with the abduction.
