Ethno Heritage Council (HERICOUN) today urged the government to institute judicial inquiry into the Khwairamband Bazar incident of July 23 or hand the matter over to the CBI.
A statement issued by the publicity and propaganda secretary of HERICOUN, L Sanajaoba Meetei stated that the order given by the government to conduct Magisterial Inquiry into the incident is lowballing the people.
The HERICOUN statement pointed out it will be more gracious on the part of the CM and the DGP to resign on moral ground.
It also urged the CM to follow the footsteps of Jammu and Kashmir - at least parts of them.
The statement further urged all concerned to stand united and let the entire leaderships of India and the World know the fake encounter killings and expose the deeds of Chief Minister O Ibobi and DGP Joykumar.
It noted the increasing rate of crimes perpetrated by the security forces like burning individual properties, looting properties, killing people for the sake of few amount, in the name of counter-insurgency operation.
Apart from these, some wicked personnel committed killings, snatch mobile phone, serving extortion notes by disguising as militants, and hurling bombs at individual residences.
It lamented the personnel carried out the acts as if fully getting the sanction of the government.
These instances show that the government is sponsoring state terrorism.
The statement urged the people how long the trends will continue to go on.
Meanwhile, the Manipur People's Party (MPP), Heingang Kendra has denounced the arrest of three women activists - Ema Sakhi, Ema Nganbi, and Ema Mema -by the police today.
A statement issued by the secretary of MPP, Heingang AC, P Birachand also pledged to support the agitation launched by Apunba Lup and MPP regarding the killing of two persons and injuring of five others by reported police firing on July 23 at the crowded Khwairamband Bazar.
