Seven UGs arrested

Imphal, April 09 2011: Seven UGs, three KCP(MC) and four PREPAK activists, involved in various cases were arrested by the police commandos in separate counter insurgency operations, official reports said today.

The KCP (MC) activists including one involved in the kidnapping and subsequent murder of a mobile tower caretaker, belonging to Nogdrenkhomba group, were arrested by the Bishnupur police commandos in their continue operation since March 17 last.

The arrested activists were identified as Ngangom Ibochouba @ Lanchaiba @ Punshiba (32) son of Ibomcha and Ngangom Ibemcha Devi (37) wife of Kh Radhamohon, both residents of Ningthoukhong Radha Madhop Mamang ward no.9 and Ngangom Tomba @ Nongdamba @ Pamheiba (25) son of Ibomcha of Moirang Khoiru Leikai.

Ibochouba and Ibemcha were arrested by the police commando on their way to a mission to kidnap Ningthoujam Jayenta of Bishnupur ward no.7, assistant project officer of Bishnupur DRDA on March 17, Bishnupur SP, Jayentakumar said.

Imphal West police commandos also arrested four PREPAK activists yesterday around 11.30 am during an operation at seprate places.

One of them identified as Laithangbam Kabocha @ Thoiba (28) son of Radhamani, presently residing at Heirangoithong, was arrested with a 9 mm pistol loaded with nine live rounds from Phayeng village.

Three more activists of the same outfit were nabbed by the same commando team from near the Langol Shija hospital last night around 6 am.

They were identified as Ningthoujam Nongthonba (38) son of Babuyaima of Langol Ningthou Leikai, Phairenbam Jugeshwor (44) son of late Maichon of same locality with the former and Tongbram Boy @ Robindro (27) son of T Labango of Lalambung Makhong.
