Imphal, September 26 2009: Many pilgrims have today offered prayer to deity at North Koubru hills and Koujeng Leima Lairembi Laiphamlen located at Sekmai invoking for the success of the present movement spearheaded by the Apunba Lup and for the restoration of peace in the state.

The occasion was organised by the Apunba Lup in collaboration with Sekmai Meira Paibee.

Meanwhile, the JACs against the killing of Sanjit and Rabina, and the Sekmai Meira Paibees have strongly denounced the statement of some Meira Paibee members of Thoubal yesterday which was telecast on ISTV.

It may be mentioned that members of Thoubal Leishangthem Meira Paibees have said that there is no poster campaign in Thoubal for the removal of Ibobi.

Pilgrims have taken out a procession today around 1pm till Koujengleima Lairembi Laiphamlen from Awang Sekmai Mayai Leikai.

The participants later offered prayer to the deity for the success of the agitations launched by the Apunba Lup and the restoration of normalcy in the state.

Later, the pilgrims have shouted slogans demanding the removal of CM and punishment for the guilty commandos at Koujeng Leima Lairembi Laiphamlen.

At the same time, talking to reporters, the secretary of Advance Women's Society, Awang Sekmai, Kh Amubi said the statement made by members of Thoubal Leishangthem Meira Paibee was strange.

She demanded the Apunba Lup initiates action against them.

She said it seems that the fake encounter killings in the state were conspired by them with CM Ibobi.

Meanwhile, addressing media persons today at the residence of the late Ch Sanjit located at Khurai Sajor Leikai, the JACs against the killing of Rabina and Sanjit have strongly denounced the statement of the Thoubal Meira paibee members which was aired on ISTV news programme.

Convenor of JAC against the killing of Rabina, Sinam Nongleima categorically said whether the denizens of Thoubal district have thought that they were not part of Manipur for making such statement even when all communities in the nine districts of the state have unanimously show solidarity to the movement.

The women who have spoken to ISTV deserve social boycott, she said.

Convenor of JAC against the killing of Rabina, Th Anita asked whether the people of Thoubal will not need the support and assistance of the rest of the people.
