Imphal, February 24 2009:
The Students'Federation of India (SFI), Manipur State Committee paid tribute to the late Dr Kishan and his two staff in a special meeting held today by observing a two-minute silence.
A statement of SFI said that they take the incapability of the chief minister who is also looking after the charge of the home department to produce and punish the culprit in public despite the culprit had been identified seriously.
Such incapability is a matter of shamefulness and hence the CM should step down .
SFI also said that the state government should clearly put forward the ground rules of the ceasefire between NSCN-IM and central government into public notice.
It stated that Dr Kishan will remain in the heart of all students as a pioneer who wanted to build a new Manipur where there is truth, development and prosperity.
Lastly, SFI appealed to all the schools of the state to observe sit-in-protest in their respective school campuses in support to the sit-in-protests organized by the JAC at various places.
Meanwhile, Member Secretary of Confederation of NGOs of Rural India (CNRI) Manipur Chapter, Kh Chinglen in a statement deeply condemned the acts of NSCN-IM in the state and demanded justice from NSCN-IM by surrendering the Lt.Col.of the outfit, H Ningsen to the Manipur government through the central government and assign appropriate penalty by the law of the land to reestablish justice.
The statement further said that NSCN-IM had been undertaking criminal activities in the hills and valley of the state with breach of the Rule of Law'of the state.
CNRI, Manipur Chapter said that the word of NSCN is not worth reliable as the public never heard of NSCN-IM punishing its culprit members in past.
No one knows about what penalty was given to James Kuki, a member of NSCN-IM who was the prime accused of the inhuman murder of little Elizabeth.
CNRI, Manipur Chapter demanded surrender of the culprits to Manipur government failing to which the CNRI claim the issue to the Union Home Minister, Chairperson of UPA, Sonia Gandhi and opposition leader, LK Advani to book and punish the culprit members of NSCN-IM according to the law of the nation.
