Different forms of agitations continue today in the state against the Khwairamband incident of July 23 and the subsequent exposure by Tehelka newsmagazine.
Members of NH-53 Apunba Meira Paibee Coordinating Committee have taken out a rally today demanding the resignation of CM O Ibobi.
However, the police have foiled the rally.
Later, the demonstrators have burned the effigy of the chief minister at Sagoltongba Mayai Leikai.
At Singjamei Wangma Beigyapati Leikai, Meira Paibee members of the Women's Development Association and Women's Welfare Association, Kongba road have staged a sit-in-protest demanding the resignation of CM and punishment against the guilty police commandos.
At Khurkhul, local Meira Paibee members have stormed the residence of Sekmai Kendra MLA, Borajao today.
Later police have prevented them from entering the campus of MLA Borajao.
The police have to resort to fire tear gas shells, mock bombs to disperse the protestors.
A sit-in-protest was also staged today at Keishampat Thiyam Leikai by the local women to register condemnation of the Khwairamband incident of July 23 .
Police have also foiled local women's attempt to storm the residence of Wangjing Tentha MLA, Moirangthem Hemanta today near Ikop Ningthou Laibung.
Staging a sit-in-protest today at Bishnupur Bazar, the vendors of Bishnupur have also burned the effigy of CM O Ibobi.
A human chain was also formed today by students of Glory English School, Sangaiprou, Regular English School and Imphal College as a part of the agitation launched by Apunba Lup against the Khwairamband incident.
