Imphal, February 19 2009: The Apunba Lup today appealed to the people of the state not to resort to violent activities and not to believe rumours while holding protest demonstrations against the merciless murder of SDO Kishan, driver Rajen and Mandol Token by the miscreants.

Talking to a joint press conference of the Apunba Lup and JAC formed in connection with the brutal murder of the SDO and his staffs, the members of both the groups cautioned that using harsh words which would not be acceptable to all by the protesters and spreading rumours may lead to a big uprising.

So, people should press the government to find the culprits in a democratic and peaceful manner, they said.

The members also demanded provision of adequate security for the people from the valley area posting at hills stating that actually it is not the people residing in the hills but the valley people going there for works who faced the atrocities meted out by the anti-social elements.

The prevailing situation in the hills areas has made people from the valley areas unwillingness to go to the hills when they were transferred there.

They also revealed that government instead of providing security to the officers posting at hills areas is remaining providing only to the officers posting in the valley areas.

The members present in the press conference further said that the Indo-Naga peace talk which aims at bringing peace has created problems and violence in the state.

They also said that the places where the three victims were abducted and found murdered could drown to the conclusion that in the murder case, NSCN(IM) has some involvementin the case even though they denied having link with the case.

The government is remaining giving interest in suppressing the protests of the people instead of trying to find out the culprits and arrest them, the members alleged.

They also said that the public meeting will be convened soon to take a final decision regarding future course of action.
