Imphal, August 25 2010: Discovering the presence of UG cadres in Singjamei, Wangkhei Meiihoubam Lampak and Wangkhei Ayangtalli Thongkhong areas troops of 28 Assam Rifles and 12 MARATHA LI of 9 Sector under HQ IGAR(South) launched joint operation in the areas and apprehended one PREPAK(VC) cadre at round 3 pm on Aug 24 and two PREPAK(GS) cadres at around 11:35 am on Aug 25 informed in a press release by PRO, IGAR HQ (South).

The nabbed cadres were identified as Shantham Rome Singh, 28 years, son of Sh Achou Singh, hailing from Shekmaijin Thongjan , Maibam Shivananda alias Taj Singh, 30 years, son of M Tombi Singh, hailing from Wangkhei Maihoubam Lampak and Loukrakpam Docha alias Nanda Kumar Meitei, 31 years, son of L Diramangol Meitei, hailing from Wangkhei Ayangpalli Thongkhong.

The press release mentioned that arms and ammunations were recovered from PREPAK(GS) cadres.

The press release said that in another operation, troops of 28 Assam Rifles in Lilong Bazar area nabbed one KCP(Nando) cadre at around 9:30 pm on Aug 24.The arrested cadre was identified as Md Riyajuddin alias Ibocha, 30 years,son of Late Md Rahimuddin, of Kiyangei Mayai Leikai village.

Troops of Assam Rifles located at Thoubal of 9 Sector under HQ IGAR(South) launched operation in Kakching Bazar area and nabbed one PREPAK cadre around 11.30 am on August 23 .

The cadre was identified as Puyam Inaocha alias Roch, 25 years, son of P Ningthemton, of Langathel Leikhom Bazar.

Arms and ammunations were recovered from the nabbed cadre.

The press release mentioned that the arrested cadre along with the weapons was handed over Kakching Police station on August 24 .

Troops of Assam Rifles located at Ukhrul of 10 Sector under HQ IGAR(South) launched operation in general area Phungcham Road Junction and View Land and apprehended one NNW (PSG) cadre and one NSCN(IM) cadre at around 11.00 pm on Aug 24 .

The nabbed cadres were identified as Yaokhaiek NNW (PSG)), 30 years, son of Risincson, hailing from Tuinem village, Ukhrul and AS Jacob (NSCN(IM)), 58 years, son of Mahesing, hailing from Tangkhul Hungdung Village, Ukhrul.

Arms and ammunitions including a Mahindra Jeep Regn bearing number NL 05-1532 were recovered from the nabbed cadre.

The press release stated that the arrested cadres along with recoveries were handed over to Porompat Police station.

In a separate press release, Superintendent of Police, Imphal West informed that two RPF cadres were arrested yesterday and today from Thangal Bazar and Sagolband Moirang Leirak.

The arrested cadres were identified as A kunjo (55) son of A Ibomcha hailing from Mayang Imphal who was arrested yesterday and Y Premkumar (35) son of Y Ibohal of Sagolband Nepram Major Mamang Leikai who was arrested today.

Senior Superintendent of Police, Thoubal District, in a separate press release informed that one cadre of KCP (KK Nganba Group) identified as Gangaram Lakandi (30) son of late Bahadur Lakandi hailing from Serou Part-II was arrested today from Kakching khunou by a joint team of CDO Thoubal and 21 AR.
