A mass court arrest stir will be launched on March 6 next in protest against the price hike, against the depriving of rights of the labours and seeking improvement of the Public Distribution System, announced the AITUC today.
Talking to reporters here at a press conference today, president of the AITUC, Manipur State Branch, Dr M Nara further observed that the prices of the essential commodities have been sky rocking in the country and the mass court arrest stir is to be launched on March 6 next to register a strong protest against government unable to control the prices of goods.
The AITUC is planning to launch the stir on March 5 but the state unit postponed it one day and planned to launch the stir on March 6 considering the Yaosang festival.
On March 5 next, workers and volunteers of AITUC will also march to the Parliament, he added.
Before the mass court arrest stir is launched, volunteers and members of the AITUC state branch will gather at Keishampat Junction first at 10 am and will hold a public meeting till 1 pm.
After the meeting the mass court arrest stir will be followed, general secretary of AITUC, state unit, L Sotinkumar said.
