Titular king of Manipur, Sanajaoba today expressed concern over the state of human rights in the state where even the right of Manipur Human Rights Commission has been snatched.
The titular king was speaking at the observation of International Human Rights Day by Threatened Indigenous People's Society (TIPS) at Sana Konung under the theme "Promotion and Protection of Human Rights to Save the Human Kind" as chief guest.
He said by human rights, it covers the rights of a man from his very birth till dead.
The most important right among other is the right to live.
The culture of arresting men by the police had ended as it has been replaced by killing if once abducted.
The land is like a jungle where no law is there.
Man in this society is like animal who hunt food for their own only.
The uprising of killing Rabina and Sanjit had died down.
There none to hear the cry of Sharmila.
People could not rise up for seek their rightful demand, he lamented.
Giving key note address of the function, TIPS general secretary Asemcha Tondon said that the day has been observed for the promotion and protection of the human rights.
It aimed at to know the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and to promote it by imparting awareness to the people.
He also talked depriving of rights of the people of the state.
