Zeliangrong bodies rebut 'K' assertion

Reacting to the assertion of NSCN (K) that it would investigate into the Nungkao killing and reveal the findings to the public on the circumstances leading to the killing student leader Chunthuigai Kamei, State Secretary of Zeliangrong Students' Union, Manipur, various Zeliangrong bodies has term it as 'nothing but exposing their bankcrupt policy of running the GPRN/NSCN (K) against Zeliangrong community' .
In a joint statement, All Zeliangrong Student Union (Assam, Manipur, Nagaland) (AZSU-AMN), Zeliangrong Youth Front (Assam, Manipur, Nagaland) (ZYF-AMN), Zeliangrong Buadi Manipur (ZBM) and Zeliangrong Students' Union, Manipur (ZSUM) observed that they have been constrained to respond to the assertion of NSCN (K) in the light of a series of deceitfully misleading press statements to deviate from taking the accountability of the murderous actions.
"The statement of NSCN (K) is a deliberate act to divert the attention of the public from the issue.
However, it will not be fruitful because the public have raised their objection after intolerable and excessive harassment meted out to Zeliangrong people in the past by NSCN (K)", the Zeliangrong bodies maintained.

Aduan Ruangmei of NSCN (K) on 24th August, issued a statement, which appeared in "The Cham" in which he identified and disclosed the cadre who committed the crime as one Sgt.

Thuipandai Panmei s/o Tingsangam Panmei of Goinenglong village.
"The NSCN (K) trying to advise the Naga NGOs not to be emotional but to maintain maturity and understanding.
But in the process, it totally exposed their organisation immaturity, stubbornness and lack of sincerity even after committing such crimes.
The NSCN (K) govt.claimed that the constitution of the Nation rests with the govt's judiciary is not related at all to the Zeliangrong people in particular and Nagas in general but the law of the people of the land are the highest and ultimate authority to take any decision of the people of the nation.
Such statement which amounts to psychological intimidation to the Zeliangrong people in particular and Nagas in general would only invite counterproductive", the joint statement observed.
The Zeliangrong public will take necessary, proper and appropriate decision in the public convention to be held on 26thAugust, at Longmai (Noney) in order to return to normalcy for peaceful and conducive atmosphere to prevail in Zeliangrong areas, the joint statement signed by Pamei Tingenlung, President of AZSU-AMN; Titus Kamei, President of ZYF-AMN and D Stephen, Chairman of ZSUM, added.
