Candidates from the state who passed the preliminary test of the Combined Civil Service Examination will get an incentive of Rs one lakh each Cabinet approved the proposal of the education department in a seating held today.
Official source said that the Cabinet meeting held under the chair of the Chief Minister, O Ibobi at the Chief Minister's Secretariat in the evening has approved to award of Rs one lakh as incentive to the students who clear the preliminary test of the Combined Civil Service Exam conducted by the Union Public Service Commission.
The incentive is to be provided to the students to facilitate in the preparations for the main exam.
The cabinet also approved the appointment of a counsel for the Advocate General of the state to assist him in dealing with pending cases of the government, raising the ration money of police personnel from the existing Rs 575 to Rs 1000 per month.
The Cabinet also discussed the construction of the Secretariat Complex, a component of the Capitol Project at Mantripukhri and decided to hand over the work to Simplex Company.
Mention may be made that the Capitol Project has been taken up under the Prime Minister's package to the state and the Assembly Complex and High Court Building construction works are under progress.
With Cabinet approval to award the tender to the Simplex Company, construction work is likely to begin soon.
An agenda on the appointment of a system manager and a computer programmer of the IMC was also approved by the Cabinet.
The two posts will be created and appointed on regular basis.
Payment of in-service pension under the New Define Contribution Pension Scheme to the family of havildar Somorendro attached with Thoubal District Police Commandos who was killed in an assault by a mob at Lilong Ushoipokpi recently was also approved by the Cabinet.
The Cabinet also discussed on the devolution of power to the Hill Autonomous District Councils.
Observing that most of the formality for the power to be transferred by the departments to the ADCs has been completed, the Cabinet decided to discuss the agenda in another seating of the Cabinet scheduled on August 25 .
