Lamka, November 11 2011:
Against the backdrop of an attempted agitation by the CDSU and JPO, three Cabinet Ministers today inaugurated two crucial projects in the district while they also laid the foundation stone of a bridge to be constructed in between Kanan Veng and Tuithapi village.
The projects include a 25 KV solar power plant installed by MANIREDA.
Works Minister K Ranjit, Health Minister L Jayantakumar and Power Minister T Phungzathang attended the official inauguration of a one storey guest house located adjacent to Deputy Commissioner's quarter at Head-quarter veng.
A brief public meeting was held within the guest house campus, wherein the three Ministers addressed the public.
Today's visit by the Ministers almost came to nought as the CDSU and JPO had announced closure of all Government offices and imposed a ban on activities of the SPF Government over their demand for adequate staff and facilities at the district hospital.

However the Government managed to negotiate a compromise at the last minute after the Ministers agreed to talk things out with representatives of the agitating bodies today before the solar power plant inauguration.
Accordingly, the Ministers had a closed door meeting with representative of CDSU and JPO at the DC's quarter.
The JPO disappointed over the response from the minister walked out of the meeting but the CDSU representatives stay put, obtaining an assurance of another meeting at the health minister's office on November 15 .
Thereafter the ministers proceeded to district hospital, wherein L Jayantakumar inaugurated the 25KV solar power plant that was installed by MANIREDA.
The ministers and their entourage then visited various wards of the hospital and the ongoing construction work without occupying the seats arrange for them and made a hasty retreat.
The foundation stone of a bridge to be constructed in between Kanan Veng and Tuithapi village was also laid by works minister K Ranjit.
