As part of the ongoing agitation against the brutal murder of Kasom Khullen SDO Dr Thingnam Kishan and his two subordinate staff by armed cadres of NSCN (IM) and demanding punishment of the murderers, a poster campaign has begun from today.
Inscribed with the wording 'Punish the murderer NSCN (IM), the poster depicting the edited photograph of Dr Kishan outstretching his hands as if embracing the slain driver Aribam Rajen Sharma on the left and slain Revenue Mandal Yumnam Token on the right side was put up at Manipur Press Club here today afternoon to kick off the campaign.The bodies of Dr Kishan and his two subordinate staff were found bludgeoned to death in the morning of February 17 at Taphou Kuki village of Senapati district after being abducted from Ukhrul district on February 13. After initial denial, NSCN (IM) admitted that the murderous killing had been committed by some of its cadres after being abducted from in front of the office gate of Deputy Commissioner of Ukhrul district.
Talking to mediapersons in connection with the poster campaign convenor of the JAC formed in protest against the killing Sapam Shankar informed that the poster campaign would be carried out in all the nine districts of the State.
Under the same slogan of the poster campaign, a rickshaw rally would also be taken out here at Imphal and a protest march at New Delhi by MASAD tomorrow and at night candles would be lit at the funeral site of the three victims.
Moreover, a rally of the autorickshaw has also been planned at Imphal on March 9 to protest the killing and press for the demand for punishment of the killers, the convenor informed.
He has also decried the failure of the State Government to make public the report of the Inquiry Committee set up by it to probe into the killing even after 14 days of the dateline announced earlier.
