Mass treatment of bed nets with anti-mosquito chemicals have been carried out in the villages close to Myanmar border under Kasom Khullen sub-division of Ukhrul district on July 23 and July 24 under the aegis of the Kasom Khullen Sub-Division Development Association.
Incidentally, these border villagers are prone to malaria.
There were reports of death of two people in the area within the current month.
The bed net treatment programme was conducted in 19 villages together with the active help of ASHAs.
The Kasom Khullen Sub-Division Development Assciation has, meanwhile, conveyed gratitude to the State Malaria Officer and the Kasom Khullen SDO for successfully organising the programme.
A number of people in the State have tested positive for Japanese Encephalitis in the last few days.
