Meet on women empowerment

Tamenglong, December 09 2011: The Indigenous Women and Children Foundation, IWCF Tamenglong today organised a district level meeting and dialogue on empowering Indigenous Women in Traditional Customary Institution at Zaojian Children Home Complex, Apollo bazaar for women leaders of Self Help Groups.

Khondinliu Gonmei, Editor, The Manipur Mirror and Solomon Pamei, Field Staff graced the meeting as resource persons.

The meeting was organised to remove various barriers put up against women to empower the women, said Dinrei Kamei, Superintendent Zaojian Children Home.

In the meantime, the Rongmei Naga Baptist Association, RNBA today began its silver Jubilee celebration at RNBA office complex at Tamenglong HQs.

The Silver Jubilee celebration will be continue till 12 December.

Rev Dr A K Lama, General Secretary CBCNEI and Rev Dr W Konghar, General Secretary MBC were the speakers of the Silver Jubilee celebration.

On the other hand the NSCN/GPRN informed this correspondent that the Tatar Hoho Winter Session was held today at Council Headquarters, Hebron and the meeting fully endorsed the Collective Leadership to carry on the ongoing Indo-Naga political dialogue in right earnest.
