Three Jr HS in Andro AC found flocking with scores of students

An allayed W Rajen, Director Education (S) today said that he feels like crying when he found three Junior High Schools in Andro Assembly Constituency flocking with large numbers of students.
Rajen along with other officials of education department, MLA Th Shyamkumar and a team of reporters today visited the three schools which are situated at Poiroukhongjil, Huikap and Maoirangpurel.
The team first visited Poiroukhongjil Junior High School.
A total of 710 students were found studying in the school.
With all the classes full with students, many were found studying in the club building of Poiroukhongjil.
The team enquired about the availability of text books to the students.
Inspiring the students, the team looked after the buildings under construction which is funded by MLA Shyamkumar and discussed the possibility of upgrading the school to the level of High School.
According to the teachers of the school, MLA Shyamkumar had appointed 13 private teachers for the school above the existing 11 government teachers to successfully run the school.

Moreover the classes have been upgraded to class IX by the MLA.
With the increasing number of students flocking to the school, the school authority has stop taking new admissions due to the inadequate classrooms.
Later, Huikap Junior High School was also found with 373 students which are being taught by five government teachers and seven private teachers which are appointed by Shyamkumar.
Moirangpurel Junior High School was also found with 620 students.
The school also has five government teachers.
Above them, Shyamkumar appointed 17 more teachers.
Satisfied with the situation, Rajen said that he felt sorry for those students who could not get admission in the schools due to inadequate classrooms.
He assured to press the higher officials to upgrade the schools up to the level of High Schools.
Expressing serious concern on the unavailability of free text books under the Right to Education Act, MLA demanded the state government to clarify its stand on the issue at the earliest.
