Informing that Manipur has only three licensed Blood Banks at RIMS, JN Hospital and Churachandpur District Hospital, Mohen observed that even as blood donation has increased considerably over the years at these Blood Banks, it still remains very little as compared to other States.
Under such condition, there are times when these hospitals are unable to supply blood on emergency cases, disclosed the Superintendent.
He stressed on the importance of creating awareness among the general public that there would be blood in the Blood Banks only when people donate it.

Altogether 262 units of blood were donated by 262 volunteers including 109 women.
AMADA representatives said that such blood donation camps would be organised in future too.
