UNLF sees development of revolution in unification

Imphal, July 25 2011:
While seeking support from the people of the state in the struggle of sovereignty of Manipur, UNLF Chairman RK Sanayaima alias Meghen today said that the recent unification of seven major revolutionary groups of Manipur is a sign of development in the freedom struggle.
In the 64 years rule of India, centre has not taken up any major developmental work in the state.
All the major roads of the state which connects Manipur with the mainland India were constructed during the time of British rule.
India is only developing some roads which are vital for its security forces' movements.
Besides all other inter village roads of the state were constructed and developed by the villagers on their sweat.
Road transport, electricity and drinking water are the essential commodities of a developed society apart from other facilities.
However in Manipur all the essential commodities of a peaceful and developed life are denied from the people of the state.
It is a well known fact to the people of Manipur ranging from small kids to elder people how much Manipur benefitted from the Loktak Project.
Besides, facility of safe drinking water is still a dream for the people of the state.
Let alone the hill areas, even the Imphal city area is not getting proper facility of safe drinking water, he said.
He further said that people of the state are well aware of the fact that who are misappropriating the meager funds sanction centre for the developments of the state.
Unfortunately, the high ranking officials and public representatives are taking percentage of such funds while blaming the revolutionary groups for jeopardizing the developmental works.
RK Sanayaima also expressed his support to the people of South Sudan who attain freedom recently.
