The Manipur People's Party (MPP) has welcomed the decision of four like-minded political parties which have announced to join hands in the coming Lok Sabha election while also accepting the decision to have a common candidate each in the inner and outer Manipur parliamentary constituencies.
During the party conference held Thursday at the party office here, the MPP has also decided to invite the CPI (M) in their coalition.
At the same time, taking note of the disturbances caused to neighbouring state of Manipur by the NSCN (IM)-Centre peace talk, the MPP has also demanded the bi-partite talks between the NSCN (IM) and the Centre Government be made a tri-partite one by incorporating the Manipur state Government in the talks.
The MPP conference has also strongly condemned the killing of Dr Kishan and two other government employees.
It also demanded the NSCN (IM) to handover the culprits to the Manipur state government so as to conduct their trials and proper punishment is awarded to them.
The MPP also reiterated its stand to demand the declaration of NSCN (IM) as a terrorist organisation.
While strongly condemning the killing of non-Manipuri labourers during the past few days, the MPP Conference has also demanded the government to trace the culprits and award fitting punishment.
The conference demanded clarification from the concerned killers over the killing of migrant labourers.
The MPP has also denounced the Manipur state Government cabinet decision to entrust all rituals relating to Sanamahi religion to Govindajee Temple Board while also resolving to demand for the withdrawal of the decision at the earliest time possible.
