An impostor who was making monetary demand from a hotel located near Chamber of Commerce, Imphal in the name of MEELAL was pulled by volunteers of MEELAL today.
The impostor identified as Iqbal Shah of Lilong Leihaokhong reportedly told that he was founder finance secretary of the MSF.
Parading Iqbal before media persons today, MEELAL president Ngasekpam Yumjao said following specific information that a monetary demand of Rs 1500 was being made by some one from Hotel Dhansree in the name of MEELAL without approval of its central committee, MEELAL volunteers rushed there and managed to pull up the impostor.
On preliminary questioning, Iqbal reportedly disclosed that he was former finance secretary of the MSF.
Absolving for his first anti-social act, Iqbal would be handed over to family after giving him proper counselling, Yumjao said.
Clarifying that there is no intention for MEELAL to seek monetary help from the public at present, Yumjao appealed to the people to inform the MEELAL in case they come across any one seeking help in the name of MEELAL.
